1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They help us to ensure the functionality of our platform and to improve your user experience.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for various purposes:
- Technically necessary storage: These are required for the operation of the platform. They enable basic functions such as user login and the saving of your settings. For this, WENDY does not use cookies but the storage of your browser (see Section 3).
- Optional third-party services (only with consent): With your consent we load third-party services that you can choose individually in the consent banner: map (Google Maps), statistics (Google Analytics) and error analysis (Sentry). They are not required for the core function. Section 3 states which of them set cookies or store information in your browser storage.
3. Cookies used
Technically necessary storage
- Sign-in (browser storage, not a cookie): Your sign-in is kept in the storage of your browser (IndexedDB or Local Storage) and remains there until you sign out.
- Consent (`wendy_cookie_consent`, Local Storage): Stores your decision regarding the use of cookies so that we do not have to ask you again on every visit.
Optional services (only with your consent, individually selectable)
- Map – Google Maps Platform: In order to provide interactive maps, satellite images and geodata, we use Google Maps. If you consent to the use, Google may place cookies on your device in order to save map settings and to analyse usage. Further information can be found in the Google privacy policy.
- Statistics – Google Analytics: For usage statistics we load the Google Analytics script (googletagmanager.com) after your consent. It sets the cookies `_ga` (to distinguish users) and `_ga_<ID>` (to persist session state), each with a default expiration of 2 years according to Google. If you withdraw consent, we delete these cookies on this website and measurement ends. Further information can be found in the Google overview of the cookies used by Google Analytics.
- Error analysis – Sentry: Sentry does not set cookies. For the simplified recording in case of errors, Sentry stores the recording state under `sentryReplaySession` in the session storage of your browser; it is deleted when the tab is closed. Details on Sentry are given in the privacy policy (Section 5 c).
4. Your options
You can change your cookie settings at any time. On your first visit to our platform you will be asked for your consent via our consent banner. You can allow only the necessary storage, consent to all optional services, or choose map, statistics and error analysis individually under “Settings”. “Cookie settings” in the footer of the public pages (or the button below) reopens the banner at any time; “Necessary only” withdraws consent you have given with effect for the future, and under “Settings” you can also withdraw it for individual services (Art. 7(3) GDPR).
In addition, you can adjust the settings of your web browser so that cookies are blocked or you are notified when a cookie is set. Please note that the functionality of the WENDY platform may be restricted if you block or clear your browser storage (Local Storage, IndexedDB).
